Description
Job Purpose:
Support the growth of DCM business by focusing on the marketing & execution of primary market debt capital market instruments, while getting an overall experience of the entire business' operations.
Key Result Areas:
Origination
- Remain up to date of market dynamics and relevant news, on a real time basis
- Maintain materials & databases of relevant information viz: issuance to date, news, capital markets, league table, other related statistics
- Ensure timely and appropriate marketing of DCM deals internally and externally
- Assist the DCM team in origination activity by preparing client pitch books from start to finish which contains the bank’s credentials, global market commentary, bond issuance strategies & recommendations
- Accompany the DCM team in presenting client pitches (including client multiple client facing opportunities), investor roadshows, industry conferences etc.,
- Effectively carry out research to obtain data from publicly available client financial reports, annual reports, prospectus, rating reports and market data from Bloomberg
- Updating & Maintaining deal pipeline report, distribution database, target client database, fortnightly report circulation database etc.,
- Prepare and send regular DCM updates containing emerging market trends, primary & secondary market news etc., to the bank’s target client list
Execution
- Take an active role in live deal and the book building process (multiple high profile deals per month)
- Full responsibility of ensuring end to end DCM documentation and adherence to internal documentation requirements (including sharia).
- Coordinate with internal legal, documentation, external legal counsels to support execution of transaction documents – including booking fees, pipelines etc.,
- Ensure the validity and legality of all transaction documentation to secure and protect the Bank’s position against unacceptable levels of risk.
- Help prepare and process internal credit approval memos in a timely & professional manner in keeping with the internal guidelines and policies
- Assist the DCM Head in preparation of any internal pitches or materials that may be required from time to time
Distribution
- Help conduct road shows to prospective participants locally and regionally.
- Help maintain investor profiles and maintain a user-friendly investor data base
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
The candidate must possess:
- Strong quantitative skills with in-depth knowledge of DCM methods/ processes
- Highly developed presentation, people and communication skills
- A proactive and energetic personality with the ability and desire to multitask across both development and execution areas.
- A passion for financial markets, investments, macroeconomic and geopolitical events
- The candidate will have some relevant experience in the Banking/Finance or related sector
- Be comfortable to work and learn to use Bloomberg and other DCM related market sources
- Be proficient with the use of MS office products.
