Job Description:
Be a subject matter expert within the transport network domain and be able to provide best practice sharing cross microwave, fiber, FTTx, SDN, satellite and other mediums including service management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support Vendor and product selection tasks for Transmission technologies, including requirements definition, testing and acceptance.
- Identify risk areas communicate to all stakeholders
- Technical coordination of technology plans and submissions as well as best practice sharing functions
- Manage, compile and update a Vodacom Group strategy for the transport Network domains and based on broader objectives defined within the company strategy
- Where required, perform cost-benefit analysis associated with specific technical scenarios and trials under consideration
- Prepare recommendations as required to your Vodacom top management
- Where necessary perform a fault finding and analysis role
- C Level Liaison across Opcos for new business opportunities, strategy discussions and presentations within the transmission domain
- Budgetary guidance to International OpCo’s for the transmission Network domains;
- Conduct analysis of the transmission networks and make recommendations that ensure resiliency and redundancy as the networks are expanded
