Job Description:
For our Rail Automation Division in Chippenham, Siemens are looking for an experienced Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer. The successful applicant will be responsible for detail design of safety critical electronic products for use in the railway environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Detailed circuit design and analysis
- Production of schematic diagrams
- Mentoring junior engineers
- Responsible for detailed design of product using CAD/CAE software.
- Creation of part structures and bills of materials on the companies PLM system
- Design of electronic products for railway signalling and control, working locally in a small hardware development team
- Requirements capture
- Checking documentation prior to release
- Providing detail instructions for PCB layout
Job Requirements:
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience of a low/medium volume manufacturing environment (essential)
- Degree in electronic engineering or a similar related discipline (essential)
- Experience in the designing of PLDs using VHDL (essential)
- Previous employment in the Rail, Aerospace or Defence industry with practical experience of a rigorous safety-critical design process
- Good attention to detail commensurate with safety-critical design
- Familiar with Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite for schematic design and PCB layout (essential)
- Strong PC skills including use of MS Office tools in a networked environment
- Proficient in the design of analogue and digital circuit boards (essential)
- Post graduate experience in a professional role (essential)
