Shipping Communication Officer

Job description / Role

• Responsible for effectively and efficiently manning Communication Center as per procedures in order to provide 24/7 contact point for Kanoo Shipping and S5 stakeholders
• Attending all stakeholder’s incoming messages by providing acknowledgments and action if urgent attention is required or appropriately forwarding to the concerned persons as per procedure
• Attending all after office hours requirements from stakeholders by providing (where possible) direct attendance or immediate coordination with the concerned staff / parties when necessary
• Providing accurate information is provided on a timely manner as required by stakeholders
• Responsible for ensuring effective implementation / compliance of Management Requirements as per Kanoo Shipping Operational / Quality / HSSE Procedures and Policies
• Report complaints, procedure and safety related issues to Supervisor (Communications), carry out corrective actions as required
• Opens / updates AgencyNow call file accurately and on a timely basis as per procedure
• Carrying out continual self improvement to ensure top performance of responsibilities and achieve customer requirements
• Monitor suppliers to ensure Kanoo Shipping Operational / Quality / HSSE / Accounting requirements are strictly complied at all times
• Responsible for the strict compliance to the Cash to Master handling and security procedures
• Responsible for the strict compliance to the Emergency Response procedures in cases of emergencies
• Carry out cover functions to Port Operations Supervisors as per Tanker Procedure
• Responsible for providing accurate and timely assistance to Kanoo Shipping staff in the field / after office hours when necessary
• Properly filed documents on records as per procedure / instructions from Service Manager
• Attend the Communication Center regular meetings with Supervisor (Communication) and carry out improvement initiatives / corrective actions decided to issues encountered as agreed
