JOB PURPOSE

SVP – Technology Strategy & Innovation will lead the creation and the execution of the technology strategies for company & its Business Units and plans that define how technology should be utilized to enable an organization’s overall business strategy. Applies knowledge of best practices to define how technology will shape the overall strategy, governance, organization structure/staffing, architecture, and processes to maximize the impact of technology for company Brands. Maintains knowledge of evolving trends in technology strategy and management and applies those to develop innovative approaches to deliver value for the organization. HeShe will maximize business value by conducting rigorous analysis and developing strategic multi-year road maps in concert with other IT leaders and business units’ teams. Furthermore, develop roadmap for promoting and deploying innovation within company and lead the innovation of company group as per best practices as well as build strong relation with the research and development bodies in the Oman.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIE

Responsibilities:

  • Design and drive the implementation of the Technology and Innovation Strategy of company in coordination with different stakeholders. And planning workshops based on business objectives and stakeholder analysis including adopting appropriate approach/methods, facilitation techniques, pre-work, artifacts, and deliverables.
  • Design and implement the Data Strategy of company including the Artificial Intelligence Strategy
    based on the business objectives and stakeholder analysis.
  • Develop the Data governance framework and associated policies and guidelines in alignment with company governance model and nation-wide related governance.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary cross functional team in the planning and execution of technology strategy and planning workshops.
  • Drive Digital transformation efforts: own/shape the move toward an agile, product based operating model.
  • Design innovation strategy for company by defining the right model of innovation and translating this into products that achieve company business objectives.
  • Partner with business units to identify new opportunities including process and/or value chain analysis, business service model, business canvas, process, and solution enablement plan.
  • Scout emerging technologies and define new opportunities that can add business value.
  • Defines appropriate processes and manages compliance to ensure corporate delivery quality at product/platform/program level (e. g. requirements management, risk management, change management, issue management, resource management, project accounting etc.)
  • Executes a PMO and SMO governance process to provide corporate executive leadership with visibility into program performance and decision-making ability.
  • Owns and manages the financial health of technology programs and projects and the IT financial management and budget process.
  • Act as a leader on the Innovation team and support with preparation of key monthly and ad hoc presentations.
  • Ensure the implement the front end of innovation process to identify and reach decisions on candidate platform and transformation technologies/partners.
  • Translates business needs to R&D projects and staff effectively and communicate the impact of R&D projects and tools effective to peers in other functional areas.
  • Orchestrate R&D projects in collaboration with the national R&D ecosystems
  • Develop and maintain a network of technology thought leaders and facilitate discussions of the group with this network.
  • Champion opportunities for new platform technology development by providing a concise technical and business overview with potential impacts to the group business.
  • Diligently performs any other reasonable work or related tasks at the request of his/her manager.
  • Capitalize on the group’s industrial challenges to develop commercial products/services

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
  • Advanced technical degree strongly preferred.
  • Professional qualification / certification from related professional body is preferred

Experience

  • 12 years relevant experience or related capacity.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in at least 2 of the example offerings (IT Value Strategy, Technology Innovation and Ecosystems, IT Operating Model, Enterprise Architecture Strategy)
  • Very good knowledge of the shipping, dry dock and port technologies and challenges
  • Strong knowledge and experience on CRM technologies, innovation platforms, operational platforms, Microsoft SQL. Data manipulation, data integration design and development, Data warehouse tech, Business Intelligence technology and others related.
  • Have demonstrated the ability to transform industrial challenges into commercial outcomes
  • Can demonstrate leading change in a complex organisation.
  • Analytical skills and a solid track record developing data integration solutions.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience writing business cases (quantitative and qualitative) to support strategic business initiatives, innovation projects, process improvement initiatives, or IT transformation recommendations.
  • A curious data enthusiast with a passion for technology and problem solving.
  • Excellent understanding of Data Protection Legislation.
  • Knowledge of agile ways of working and Total Quality Management
  • practices.
  • Analytical skills – Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven track record of delivering advanced analytic solutions – deploying them, measuring, and optimizing them.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and Oral).
  • Fluent English & Arabic languages is mandatory.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict handling skills.
  • Strong project management skills (including change management)
  • Excellent in data modelling, data center, data integration, data mining and data quality.

  • General computer literacy (Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
