Senior Network Strategy & Projects Manager | Al Futtaim Automotive

What you will do 

Manage & drive Automotive International Network Development Projects across initiation, planning, execution, monitor, control, and closure; ensuring financial budgetary control whilst successfully delivering service to support the objectives of the Automotive Division.


Network Strategy

•   Lead and drive the network planning to design, implement and monitor the performance of tailored ideal network strategies for each brand (Sales, Aftersales, Parts etc.), ensuring that industry and Al-Futtaim Automotive standards are achieved.

•   Evaluate and lead the Group’s strategic direction in relation to ‘Ideal Networks’, overseeing the development of strategic plans to consolidate brand strategies into 

centralised Group plans, integrating the impact of Urbanisation, Electric Vehicles, Mobility Options and E-Commerce. 

•   Manage the delivery of Group Ideal Network Plan, ensuring viability and long-term efficiencies are aligned to Divisional and Group strategies.

•   Continually develop and improve the techniques utilised to deliver network planning projects within Al-Futtaim Automotive, ensuring deliverables are ‘best in class’ for the industry.

•   Drive innovation in network planning & strategic planning activities, increasing the depth and quality of information at a Group level aligned to 2023 strategic goals.


International Projects Portfolio & Project Management

•   This role is crucial in taking the international ND projects from the point of identifying an opportunity through to the point of construction and handover to the business.

•   Provide project management support to Local Network Development Division (including strategic support, initiation, planning, execution, monitor & control, closure, and budgeting services to the Automotive Division to support the successful implementation of Auto related project developments).

•   Planning & Execution – Define and agree project objectives with key stakeholders/Project Sponsor then communicate with the project team to establish this vision of what will constitute successful accomplishment of the project objective. 

•   Monitor & control – Track, review and regulate progress and performance of the project; identify any areas in which changes to the plan are required; and initiate the corresponding changes.

•   Closure – Finalise all activities to formally complete the project. Verify that the defined processes are completed to close the project. Obtain acceptance by the customer/sponsor. Ensure quality and delivery of project on time and in budget.

•   Support the development of the Network Strategy plan with inputs from the Network on what is required to achieve the group objectives

•   Immediately escalate to Head of ND Projects any issues which may cause a delay to the project process to amend the timelines expected for delivery

Required skills to be successful•  Extensive experience leading Network Planning projects & Strategy (Automotive)•   Leadership experience – delivery through others•   Strategic Market Analysis & Forecasting •   A full knowledge of all franchised networks, customer journey guidelines.•   Ability to communicate and interact with internal and external customers and senior management team•   Develop and maintain strong relationship with peer group and colleagues•  Influencing skills at Board level with an ability to negotiate outcomes•   Excellent presenter with commercial acumen and awareness including the latest market trends and emerging network opportunities•   Extensive knowledge and experience in retail network planning•   Travel and conduct onsite visits•   Ability to self-manage and self-motivate.•   The candidate should have experience managing teams, both through direct line management and in a matrix set up.  What equips you for the role•   Knowledge of Strategy Network and Project management.
