We now have an opportunity to join Sainsbury’s as a Planning and Projects Lead within the People Analytics Team. People analytics is at the very centre of how work is evolving at Sainsbury’s. As a Planning & Projects Lead, you’ll be accountable for helping us co-ordinate that demand and related activities, managing workflow and overseeing resource alignment through effective workload planning and tracking tools.
The role will report to the Senior Manager for People Analytics (team leader) be accountable for monitoring, reporting on the development and delivery of key proactive and reactive projects. You will be proactive in identifying opportunities and risks to project plans; escalating when appropriate; and working with the team, partners, and stakeholders to drive to practical solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Take Responsibility for workload planning and prioritisation, assessing requirements for activities, and working with the relevant teams to provide that resource
- Prioritising work across the teams, balancing needs to deliver the required outcomes
- Maintain visibility of all team activity, providing input in regular project management and planning meetings, chairing these meetings where appropriate
- Highlight any resource or scheduling conflicts to relevant project owners and seek to pro-actively resolve these to ensure delivery of required activity
- With input from senior members of the team, maintain quarterly operational reporting, tracking progress, risks, and actions to deliver against departmental objectives
- Take the lead in continuously improving planning and how projects are managed
Job Requirements:
- Experience in use of planning tools e.g. MS Project, Trello, MS Planner, Excel
- Understanding of project delivery methodologies (e.g. agile, waterfall)
- Ability to plan multiple streams of activity that may have conflicting requirements
- Interest in using service mgmt. tooling e.g. ServiceNow, Jira
- Interest in using collaboration tools e.g. Confluence, Miro
- BA/BSc degree or relevant experience in a similar role
