Make a difference, manage part of the site supervision function on the UAE freight and passenger railway network. The railway will redefine logistics and transport in the region, providing a modern, safe, efficient and sustainable network which will connect the seven emirates of the UAE to its neighbouring GCC countries.

As Safety Inspector – Rail (Track Laying OR Tunnels), you will work as an integrated member of the Construction team and encourage HSE excellence at the site level. You will engage the site teams and become the site focal point for HSE advice alongside monitoring and validating the effective implementation of the project HSE strategy. You will be a useful resource for the technical interpretation of health, safety and environmental regulatory requirements whilst providing ongoing support to Jacobs & Contractors site teams and recommend suitable actions for improvement where identified. You will be able to share your knowledge of general application of principles, theories, concepts, and best industry practices to perform work of moderate scope and complexity referring to policies and other HSE resources for guidance. You will work under the general supervision of the HSE Package Manager, ensuring work is reviewed for adequacy and accuracy whilst monitoring work activities to advise on site deficiencies regarding risk control, HSE program implementation and/or performance.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

As an effective candidate you will have an advanced technical training (eg. NEBOSH / IOSH) and/or a bachelor’s degree in HSE related field. You must have a strong of character and be able to challenge unsafe situations and be solutions inspired. You must have experience within live construction RAIL projects and have demonstratable experience of supervising the operational function of a rail construction project being mindful of the rail plant and machinery in a busy environment. You must have experience with both semi-mechanized and LWR Tracklaying equipment and the knowledge of the HSE risks associated with these operations is critical. You must have experience working around a live a rail fabrication yard and knowledge of the HSE Risks associated with these operations are desirable. GCC experience is desirable and a UAE driver’s license or the ability to obtain a UAE driver’s license is required. You MUST be available to work the NIGHT shift and/or extra time, if necessary.
