Research Assistant- Division of Social Science

The Social Science Division of New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a research assistant to work on assembling historical data about US subnational finances.

The position involves extracting and organizing data about tax rates/statutes, collections, and expenditures from historical documents. It requires attention to detail, precision, and sound judgement. The candidate should have a BA or equivalent, be familiar with excel and one statistical program (e.g., Stata or R), and have some research-related experience. The ideal applicant would have some prior knowledge of the structure and technical terms associated with public finances and some experience with archival documents.
