Job Description
A research assistant position is available with Dr. Abdul Rauf (Department of Architectural Engineering), within the College of Engineering, United Arab Emirates University. The research will analyse the effects of building and material service life on life cycle energy requirements of buildings in UAE. The work procedures includes: modelling in Autodesk Revit and material takeoff for material quantities; using material quantities in Microsoft Excel for embodied and life cycle energy calculation for various scenarios; analyzing and establishing relationships among the results of various scenarios.

The successful candidate should have a strong background in energy analysis in buildings. He/she should possess strong research skills; strong language and presentation skills, strong Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Excel skills; strong organizational skills; and willingness to adapt to continuous changes associated with research demands.
The research position is supported by a grant from UAE University, initially for 1 year and can be continued to maximum 2 years, subject to the satisfactory performance of the research assistant.
