Job Description
A Research Assistant position is available at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, College of Science, UAE University. The position is funded by the Research grant “Polynomial Invariants of Quasi-alternating Links” UAEU Program for Advanced Research (UPAR).

The position is for 3 months with possibility of extension depending on the performance and the availability of funding. Salary is tax-free and will be around 9,000 AED Monthly. The focus of the research is in the area of Knot theory. More precisely the use of different knot invariants to study quasi-alternating links.

The Research Assistant will work under the supervision and guidance of the PI of the project to study the quantum invariants of quasi-alternating links. The expected outcome of this study is to find obstruction criteria for quasi-alternateness leading to the characterization of this class of knots and links.

The progress of the research work will be discussed through regular meetings with the PI.

Minimum Degree: PhD in Low Dimensional Topology or in a related field.
