Job Description
Square is looking for a Project Manager, reporting to our Stock Administration Lead, to help lead and scale Square’s stock administration function as we grow globally. You will manage the creation, organization, execution and completion of projects related to equity compensation and payroll and assist with end-to-end administration of our equity plans (including equity grants, option exercises, releases, ESPP, and broker transactions), in the U.S. and globally. This position can sit in any of Square’s US offices or be 100% remote from the continental United States.
You Will:
- Manage the equity compensation and payroll aspect of several projects; for instance, the expansion of existing plans, automating current processes, expansion to new countries, creation of new entities, M & A activity and more
- Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, observing deadlines and summarizing the progress
- Work with all partners to delegate tasks on the project to the individuals and teams best positioned to complete them
- Identify and manage potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
- Help define project scope and goals
- Determine the best way to proceed when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
- Be the equity compensation and payroll contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain coordinated
- Perform quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
- Motivate people involved in the project to complete tasks
- Help administer our stock plans for all employees in the U.S. and globally. (including section 16 insider filings, 10b5-1 plan management, addressing employee questions, monthly and quarterly reporting)
- Perform other tasks and ad hoc requests as needed
Qualifications
You Have:
- 8+ years of relevant experience in project management and administration of global equity plans (Prefer a CEP designation – program underway or completed)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- Experience completing projects as a project lead
- Working knowledge of equity plans and multiple equity types; experience working directly with major third-party equity software systems and brokerage firms
- Ability to function in a highly confidential environment
- Must demonstrate attention to detail, analytical abilities and consistent follow-through
- Experience partnering with teams such as Payroll, Legal, People, Corporate Development and the Accounting teams
- Passion for Square and interest in technology / knowledge of the industry
