Job Description

The Strategic Operations team mission is to lead high impact global initiatives for the Compliance organization, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness. Examples include identifying and managing outsourcing partners, developing team efficiency metrics and key performance indicators across the organization, and reporting out to management.

You will manage projects to support compliance business operations, including operational efficiency improvements, supporting the design and launch of new products, and partnering with finance, product managers, operations leads, engineers, legal counsel, and vendors.

You will:

  • Organize and manage technical projects, by gathering requirements, developing and tracking project milestones, and estimating work efforts
  • Evaluate current operational processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices
  • Identify and prioritize the reduction of business risks
  • Design and maintain all relevant documentation and content
  • Manage communication of progress/status with the Counsel team, executives and other project team members
  • Build tactical and scalable solutions for operational teams to manage compliance tasks and risks
  • Communicate progress and results to all relevant partners
  • Stay on top of regulatory developments, industry trends and Square roadmaps to guide decisions


You have:

  • 2+ years of experience managing large projects in partnership with teams across the organization
  • Experience working with team members of all levels
  • A metrics-driven approach to create substantiated solutions
  • Created scalable financial models
  • Clear written skills that reflect
  • Advanced Excel skills

Even better:

  • Understanding of Analytics tools (SQL)
  • Experience in compliance, AML, and the payments industry
  • Data visualization experience
