Pharma Partnership Director

Genomics England successfully led the world-leading 100,000 Genomes Project, which compared and analysed individuals’ genetic codes to help diagnose, treat and prevent illness.

We’re now accelerating our impact, working with the NHS to further develop and embed genomic healthcare and research in Britain.  Our next chapter involves working with patients, doctors, scientists, government and industry to improve genomic testing, and help researchers access the health data and technology they need to make new medical discoveries and create more effective, targeted medicines for everybody.

The Pharma Partnership Director will use their experience to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with healthcare organisations. Influencing these partnerships whilst aiming to enhance the scientific, technological, and clinical mission of the company. 

Key accountabilities within this role would be:

To renew existing industry partners’ memberships whilst also proactively setting about winning new partnerships. Delivery of new industry projects in line with the strategy (eg Cancer, alongside generating new revenue streams and producing accurate forecasts. You will be co-creating activities which will lead to improved platform or datasets for GEL. Also understanding the meaning of our virtues: Empathy, Integrity, Focus, Connection, Speed, Curiosity, Impact and embody them in all aspects of your role.

Key Attributes:

Ideally you will be mission driven, operating as an advocate for genomics-enabled precision health. You will champion the commercial agenda to benefit patient outcomes within the UK healthcare system. Ideally you will be pragmatic in finding solutions that satisfy disparate interest groups (e.g. commercial vs clinical vs patient vs legal), with extensive experience in dealing with large pharma, and biotech companies. It’s highly desirable that you possess a great understanding of genomic data applications, clinical data, its sources, and its limitations and have a clear understanding the regulatory landscape
