Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state-owned public corporation established byEmiri Decree No. 10 in 1974. It is responsible for

all phases of the oiland gas industry in the State of Qatar.The principal activities of QP, its subsidiaries and joint ventures

arethe exploration, production, local and international sale of crude oil,natural gas and gas liquids, refined products,

synthetic fuels,petrochemicals, fuel additives, fertilizers, liquefied natural gas(LNG), steel and aluminium.QP’s strategy of

conducting hydrocarbon exploration and development isthrough Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements (EPSA)

andDevelopment and Production Sharing Agreements (DPSA) concluded withmajor international oil and gas

Primary purpose of job

Control all permitted works that are implemented through the Permit to Work (PTW) system in the process area. Ensure

work assignments are executed after thorough identification of potential hazards, evaluation of risk and control measures


Experience & Skills

A minimum of 8 years relevant experience within the oil & gas industry, skills and experience relating to Permit to Work,

Gas testing, Job Hazard Analysis, etc.

  • English Level-5 proficiency.
  • Good experience in Breathing Apparatus, Confined space entry, Authorized Gas Testing, permit to work & JHA

Authorization, Safe Plant Maintenance, Chemical and Hazardous material Handling, Basic scaffolding awareness, Electrical

Isolation, LOTO procedure and Radiation Protection Awareness

  • Good knowledge of Refinery process units, product storage Tanks and support utility units.
  • Good knowledge in Plant Operation Information System such as Laboratory Information System (LIMS), Refinery

Information System (RIS) and SAP.

  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform risk assessment and review/prepares proposals.
  • Ability to work effectively with various personnel and in teams and be flexible in work assignments.
  • Ability for improving bad working habits, employee performance, maintaining improved performance, utilizing effective

follow up actions to solve employee or work-related problems.


Completed Secondary School Education (12 years)

Safety Courses – NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma.
