Job description / Role
Our client is seeking an Operational Readiness Specialist to support the Director of Operations in the management of the train operations unit and plan, coordinate and monitor the allocations of resources for the effective and efficient maintenance of the client’s Rolling Stock and Yellow Plant supplied equipment, in line with established internal practices and standards.
Accountability Areas:
– Assist in the business planning process by providing data to superiors regarding budgetary activities and historical data, in order to promote accuracy in forecasting for future required resources
– Perform rail and transport research including computer simulations, rail capacity and network planning while ensuring statistical analysis of activities in line with internally established policies and procedures
– Develop the Operational Readiness program to enable future stage expansion in conjunction with designated operator
– Review all relevant designs, schematics, simulations and documentation supplied by PMC and Engineer. Provide comments and recommendations to enable completion
– Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant business activities and service levels required by the client’s customers and stakeholders and provide additional inputs and insights in the formulation of commercial agreements
– Provide expert input for the preparation of specifications and tenders, in particular rolling stock, maintenance and operational facilities, passenger facilities and planned expansions
