Job Description:
To lead and manage the nursing team in the provision of patient-centric and evidence based nursing care, operational efficiency and positive patient experiences.
Job Responsibilities:
- To ensure evidence based patient care practices are followed as per clinical standards
- To manage allocated clinical and non-clinical resources in a cost efficient and effective manner to enhance safe patient care
- To ensure positive patient experiences by developing employees and creating an environment that enables team engagement
- To monitor and manage compliance with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continuous quality improvement
- To provide strong leadership and management guidance to the team
Job Requirements:
- Essential: Demonstrate the ability to evaluate staffing patterns and needs and matching needs to patient acuity
- Essential: Demonstrate the ability to cost-effectively manage expenses
- Essential: Basic knowledge of stock control principles and the application thereof within the unit (i.e. identify, charge, report losses)
- Essential: Demonstrate Nursing functional competence (Nursing practice)
- Essential: Knowledge of all relevant external quality and governance standards and manage compliance to these standards
- Essential: Demonstrate the ability to implement all 5 stages of the Scientific Nursing Process (assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation and evaluation)
- Essential: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and the application thereof to management of the nursing unit
- DOH license or eligibility will be a definite advantage
- Desired: Master of Science in Nursing or related Healthcare field
Qualification & Experience:
- Desired: 5-10 years senior nursing experience
- Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing from a recognised/accredited Nursing Institute
- Essential: At least 3-5 years’ senior nursing experience, preferably in a private hospital
