Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate as a team players with superior influencing skills, building relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward
  • Be entrepreneurial and unafraid of change, willing to take risks but also driven by process and exceptional execution
  • Translate high level strategies to tactics for balance of team
  • Partner with multiple MEC departments and external industry stakeholders to drive development, planning, budgeting, and buying strategies and deliver on tactical work for the product portfolio
  • Champion a performance driven culture for oneself and the team; delivering with a strong adherence to deadlines, goals and initiatives
  • Drive insight and innovate to manage a dynamic environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold and strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment
  • Think creatively and have the determination to build, launch and manage projects/programs that drive value for our customers, despite headwinds
  • Act as the ‘business owner’ for your product group, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business
  • Advocate and nurture product evolution through entire go-to-market process
  • Drive category business by “outside of the box” thinking that connects the lines between financial patterns and market/store insights to identify growth opportunities
  • Architect a product line structure that yields progressive assortments to drive product demand, brand stature, profitability and long term growth

Job Requirements:

Qualification & Experience:

  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills; regularly influences and persuades key stakeholders
  • Innate merchant instinct with proven track record of growth, risk and innovation within product assortments
  • Strong business acumen skills; demonstrated expertise of retail marketing, consumer trends, driving incremental sales
  • Absolute commitment to delivering consumer-focused initiatives; possess superior innovation management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans and initiatives that will achieve financial performance and operational targets
  • Ability to travel 4-6 weeks per year (once we’ve resumed regular operation)
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a business of at least $30MM+
  • 8+ years retail experience including 3+ years of direct portfolio buying experience, and/or progressive growth in a relevant cross functional role that include management of high SKU count lines in an omni-channel environment
