Lead Facilities Manager – 4 Month Contract

Our Semi Governmental client has a new requirement for a well experienced, Lead Facilities Manager to join their team in Dubai, UAE. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Lead Facilities Manager for an FM Service Provider or Consultancy company on large scale FM projects and contracts, ideally experience in Major Events or similar projects in the UAE / GCC.

This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 4 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of the Operations Support Services
  • Provides strategic input to the day to day operating plan
  • Collaborate with other functional areas, such as Events, International Participants and Venue Management on ensuring a seamless delivery of Operational Support Services
  • Ensure the ongoing enforcement of planned preventative maintenance, testing and inspections, coordinating shut-downs as required for transitions and installations
  • Act as the focal point for Operations Support Service activities
  • Ensure contractual compliance of Service Providers across Operations Support Services that extend into monitoring Key Performance Indicator’s and resolving performance gaps, implementing penalties and/or incentive awards and managing contract scope variations
  • Management of the Operational Support Services team in the Zone
  • Assist with the mentoring of Operations Support Services staff
  • Ensure implementation and adherence for all Site wide Policies and Procedures
  • Work with the Venue Management and Overlay teams in ensuring the cleaning, maintenance and waste requirements of temporary structures within the site
  • Lead the team responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports
  • Set objectives and evaluate performance of individual direct reports and actively manage key personnel issues
  • Ensure that all staff acquire the required skills and knowledge through appropriate learning and development programs
  • Provide visible leadership to the team and across the organization to key stakeholders

Lead Facilities Manager Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree Level (minimum) – Project Management, Facilities Management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years’ experience, two years of which were in a similar role working within a highly dynamic and complex environment, with specific experience related to Hard and Soft Services facility operations
  • Understanding Hard and Soft Services operational dependencies, impact on other functions and non-operational directorates
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural organisation, GCC region
  • Experience in working with senior level Government partners and multi-agency stakeholders
  • Programme/ project manager experience supporting large complex projects
  • Experience with contract procurement from tender design to execution and management
  • Ability to build a network across project teams and key external stakeholders
  • Communicates well and consistently from Director/Executive level down to large teams of workforce e.g. volunteers
  • An understanding of Hard and Soft Services Facility Management, and Waste contractors in the UAE / Dubai
  • Collaborates well with other business functions and a good integrator
  • Skilled project manager, methodical thinker, with superior guest service focus and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Contract length: 4 months
