Junior Quant Energy Trader

Job description / Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful, emerging proprietary trading and investment firm based in the DMCC. Trading energy derivatives across the oil spectrum they have grown exponentially and gained premium global investment.

This is an entry level position, combining research and trading responsibility and will report to the Portfolio Manager / Senior Trader. The role involves assisting the Portfolio Manager with trading and implementation of existing quantitative/systematic strategies as well as researching new trading strategies and opportunities within the energy markets. You will be mentored and given the opportunity to develop your career, supporting the Portfolio Manager with trade execution and subsequently, should you be successful, the opportunity to develop and run your own strategies as you develop.

The role requires technical and mathematical analysis, developing your skills across data science, quant trading, trade execution and portfolio management. The ideal candidate will enjoy solving problems and taking on new challenges both in and out of financial markets, data mining, cleaning and storing of data and independent and collaborative research of new theories and ideas. You will be able to liaise effectively with middle/back office about clearing, P&L and risk controls and have open communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
