Job Description:

In Category Planning we pride ourselves on making a good impression, every time . After all, months of hard work goes into developing and or finding products that meet our customer’s needs, so we need to ensure that we’re helping everyone eat better by delivering the best value through key events, secondary space, aisle and channels.

Job Requirements:

  • Manage and be accountable for the application of PromComm across the team driving best practice and right-first-time delivery
  • Ownership of accurate summaries of future and past promotional plans ensuring up to date information is always available
  • Representing the category from a customer planning perspective, ensuring our fair share of voice on the customer plan
  • Ownership of the category activation plan, translating insights into viable commercial opportunities (including supplier brand plans) that drive a return on investment and are considerate of the end to end customer journey
  • Ownership of Value Simplicity being the driver and conscience for the team on all strands of the initiative; Compliance, reduction in value sold on deal etc.
  • Be up to date with the performance of the category using Nectar data and Nielsen and other market intelligence sources e.g. IGD etc.
  • Be the category expert of consumer trends and analysis, establishing key opportunities for sales and innovation and feedback consumer insights and learning within the team
  • Guide on the evolution of our value strategy, building our insight and knowledge base
  • Build an optimised promotional plan across aisle and secondary space, using relevant data, insight and analytics
