Job Description:
As Data Triage Manager, you’ll play a key role in enabling the success of our data and analytics teams to deliver for our customers. You’ll lead our approach to triage; identifying issues and ensuring we resolve and mitigate future challenges. Building strong relationships within the Customer & Data domain, you’ll not only need expertise in data warehousing, BI & Big Data platform concepts, but also the ability to engage a team to deliver a trusted service.
Within the data and analytics team, we need end-to-end empowered squads who are effective in delivering solutions at pace. You’ll be key to enabling the success of our domain, both looking across the operation at the big picture and unlocking value in the detail of how we work and where we could improve.
Job Responsibilities:
- Define and deliver the strategy for data triage service, including embedding the support model across data and analytics teams
- Own the medium-term plan for the Data Triage operation, connecting across multiple team plans
- Organise and facilitate reviews, drawing together teams to drive towards service improvement and stronger outcomes
- Define the measurement for Data Triage operations, converting the Customer & Data strategy into meaningful actions for the team
- Work closely with all analytics and data team leads (including Senior Engineering Managers) to ensure that the support process is clearly understood and executed smoothly
- Hold regular review meetings with Sainsbury’s Tech Service Management team to review support processes. Manage regular and appropriate user communication and engaging Manger Incident Manger where appropriate
- Monitor status of all issues and ensure correct escalations are implemented.
- Own analytics and data service level metrics, sharing regular updates with the leadership team
- Own, through collaborating with the team, all communication messages and templates
- Ensure all data products are correctly represented in both Service and Product catalogues
Job Requirements:
- Strong understanding of service metrics & supporting tools
- Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing, BI & Big Data platform concepts & uses
- Strong knowledge of data ETL processes
- Strong SQL, preferably on big data platforms e.g., Snowflake, Big Query etc.
- Knowledge and use of BI tools e.g., MicroStrategy, PowerBI etc.
- Knowledge and use with cloud solutions preferably AWS
- Understanding and abilities in managing a Data Ops or Service Support team
- Passion for data products and the value they deliver to customers
- Proactive and committed to ensuring the best experience for our customers in everything we do
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with peers
- Manage multiple priorities, and delegate and escalate to ensure maximum performance
- Strong communication to explain complex challenges, and be influential as a respected SME in their subject
