Job Description:
Provide expertise and support to MEC in the areas of operational analytics, business intelligence, database and campaign management, particularly for the Merchandise Department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Business requirements are fully understood and accurately translated into actionable reports.
- To meet with clients to discuss, clarify and confirm the specifications and to offer suggestions and/or alternatives when determining the type of information to be extracted, reach conclusion on necessary specifications, and move to execution.
- Routine data integrity maintenance undertaken; segment code updated annually.
- To create and maintain regular operational analysis reports and views (sales, margin, PO management, pricing, product / vendor set-up).
- To provide insight and business intelligence in support of decision making.
- To ensure reports are available on a timely basis facilitating e.g. sales and inventory control
- Client needs are met and queries and reports are conducted in an accurate and timely manner.
- Reports are run in timeframe specified.
- To support the CIO in execution of the IS mandate.
- To complete ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by the CIO or others.
- To support operations and strategy development
- Analysis is complete and accurate.
- Data integrity problems are identified and communicated appropriately.
- To understand business requirements.
- To test queries and quality assurance of reports.
- To keep database accurate and up-to-date.
- To conduct analysis on a variety of subjects including profitability, segmentation, and product and member retention.
- Projects and tasks are completed satisfactorily in the time frame promised.
- To maintain membership database as needed, including data integrity, activities (contacts), segment codes.
- To keep database accurate and up-to-date.
- To diagnose underlying problems related to data integrity.
- Client needs are met and queries and reports are accurate
- Manage inventory reporting, including OTB, aged inventory / life cycle management, seasonal exit strategies, and write-down analysis.
- To provide accurate information.
Job Requirements:
Qualification & Experience:
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and proven ability to create and present analysis and business cases
- Experience with retail merchandising processes and systems required
- Experience developing and maintaining business partnerships with key stakeholders
- Excellent technical skills using Excel, Visio, and Power BI, and proven ability to build and develop dashboards and reporting structures
- University degree or college diploma in related field – preferred
- 3 years of work experience in a retail environment
