Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Instrumentation & Control Designer to strengthen our team in Dubai.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Instrumentation and control design work for small to medium sized work order based projects (FEED and EPC) covering both brownfield modifications and greenfield expansions
- Hands on production of Control and Instrumentation design deliverables
- Input/development of Project Design Specifications
- Compliance with applicable Client/International standards
- 3D Modelling and attendance at design reviews, including follow-up activities
- Interface with other disciplines, Vendors and Client
- Instrument Index and Instrument Installation Schedules
- Cable Routing, Instrument/F&G Location Plans, Architecture/Block Diagrams, Control/Equipment Room Layouts, etc.
- Instrument Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Process Hook-Ups
- Instrument Wiring/Loop Diagrams
- Bulk Material MTO and Requisitions
- Sub-Contract Requisition Inputs and site engineering work packs.
- Review/checking of design deliverables, including coordination and checking of work-share design carried out at affiliate design offices
- Technical support to Instrument Engineers and coordination of design requirements with other disciplines (Piping, Civils and Electrical, etc)
- Input / review of design man-hours and schedules for project planning / estimating purposes
Skills / Qualifications:
- Diploma in a relevant discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant Oil and Gas, Refining or Petrochemical experience
- Strong understanding of all aspects of Control and Instrumentation design work and ab
- PDMS experienced required
- ility to develop the detailed design requirements effectively and safely to meet the target budgets and schedules
- Good working knowledge of the design tools and also ability to guide others in their use
- Previous Middle East experience is essential
- Candidates in-country preferred in this role
