The Project Manager, Technology will focus on the management and coordination of various projects led by the Chief Technology Officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the IT, Business Application, Business Intelligence and Software Engineering teams as well as individuals assigned to critical technology projects throughout the firm. This includes planning and executing projects within their assigned scope and budget. The Technology Project Manager will also be responsible for creating and managing the technology budget, ensuring proper communication is occurring within the team and with stakeholders, creation of presentations and for helping the CTO drive technology change throughout the organization. This role should have experience working directly with stakeholders throughout an organization and have excellent communication and organization skills.
Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)
Defines the project management process, standards, deliverables and operational cadence necessary to ensure consistent project execution.
Responsible for identifying key resources and providing the direction required for meeting the project objectives.
Manages project schedules and task details, makes adjustments consistent with plan objectives and utilizes project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software.
Manages project scope and deliverables through a structured change management process to ensure customer expectations are met.
Responsible for ensuring that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities throughout the life of the project.
Leads and motivates people and fosters collaborative teamwork environment. Regularly tracks progress on all project plans and provides updates to executives as requested.
Ensures all stakeholders are informed of projects progress and issues.
Creates and executes technical project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing scope and requirements.
Manages project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
Develops and maintains reporting and communication on the status of projects to stakeholders and project teams.
Monitors or track project milestones and deliverables.
Leverages technology to provide updates and track project progress.
Confers with project personnel to identify and resolve problems.
Works closely with various internal departments to ensure project’s service level agreement and successful completion of projects.
Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with implementing suggested solutions.
Vendor evaluation and sourcing through RFPs and RFIs. Evaluates proposals and makes informed recommendations.
Manages external vendors and maintains relationships with external team members.
4-8 years proven Project Management experience with ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously; facilitating and/or directing teams.
1 – 3 years of directly related industry experience, preferably in a startup environment
PMP Certified desired.
Ability to design, direct/manage data analytic efforts; comfortable at the summary and detail levels. Ability to organize and communicate complex functions/activities and effectively and efficiently identify and remediate project risks and/or issues.
Excellent verbal and written communicator, formally and informally. Diplomatic with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management, and a clear vision of what determines a successful solution for the company.
Comfortable with technology (new and/or proven).
Detail-oriented without being detail-focused.
Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment.
Professional and effective written and oral communication skills in the English language.
Ability to multitask and juggle competing priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and data analysis capabilities.
Ability to grasp strategic concepts.
Ability to effectively organize and structure activities.
Basic understanding of business and financial principles.
