Aldar Education are currently seeking an outstanding High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for Al Danah Charter School in Abu Dhabi for the next Academic Year 2021 – 2022.
Al Danah Charter School is KG and Cycle One school located in the outskirts of Abu Dhabi providing a high-quality education to over 1700 students. RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Purpose
To be able to assist and support in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the Class Teacher/Leadership Team.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Ability to plan and teach their own lessons under the guidance of the Class Teacher.
- Work under minimal supervision which includes covering classes in the absence of the Class Teacher.
- Act as a representative/lead to other Classroom Assistants.
- Provide support for individual students / groups of students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in a range of activities during the school day and to provide for their social, emotional and physical wellbeing.
- Be pro-active in matters relating to health and safety
- Assist in the implementation of individual education programmes for individual students / groups of students and help monitor their progress
- Support students with additional support needs e.g. emotional and behavioural difficulties and help to develop their social skills
- Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
- Prepare and present displays of students’ work
- Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks to support teaching
- Support the aims of the school; comply with the requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation, and school policies
- Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendance
- Attend team and staff meetings as required
- Work with other professionals e.g. speech therapists, occupational therapists etc. as necessary
- Undertake other duties from time to time as the principal requires
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate is required; BA Degree in Education or BA Degree in Relevant Field with teaching qualifications is preferable.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Curriculum Support role
Job Specific Knowledge & Skill
- Fluent English communication skills, written and oral
- Strong interpersonal skills to aid in daily contact with parents in a diverse multi-cultural environment
- Excellent office management skills
- Proficient in operating PC, Facsimile, Photocopier, Telex and various office machines, including working knowledge of prevailing popular application software and spreadsheets.
- Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background.
- A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
- A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check
