HEB Management Careers – HR Benefits Strategic Advisor


Job Description:

Support the delivery of overall business results through Benefits strategic initiatives where appropriate throughout H-E-B and with external vendors.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advises / collaborates with cross functional work groups and Benefits business leaders to create initiative strategies, including determining business priorities, team performance needs, implementation and measurement.
  • Advises / collaborates cross-functionally to determine appropriate solutions to address business needs which may include internal / external design, extensive research and program evaluation
  • Consults on training needs and serves as a conduit for team deliverables and solutions
  • Acts as Project Manager on Benefit strategic and business initiatives, including developing plans, consulting and managing resources, and change efforts
  • Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of solutions and revises / refines solutions accordingly
  • Communicates to assigned initiative stakeholders status on initiative / projects; training utilization and budget consumption; evaluation results
  • Utilizes performance consulting skills to address performance problems and systemic issues and insures accountability for Benefit solutions
  • Applies subject matter knowledge of adult learning and change management to conduct needs analysis with clients

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR/Benefits, Business or related field, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 6+years’experience in Benefits, Consulting, Organization Development Organization Effectiveness
  • 1 – 4 years consulting experience
  • Advanced analytical skills and project management skills
  • Advanced time management, organization and administrative skills
  • Excellent written / verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced interpersonal skills to include persuasion, influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels in an organization
  • Demonstrated success in working complex issues with senior management utilizing highly developed influencing skills
  • Advanced level facilitation and negotiating skills
  • Proven ability to advise and consult with cross- functional groups
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure
  • Working knowledge and experience in leading the identification, implementation and management of program and project solutions
  • Working knowledge and experience with cost analysis, budgets and expense control
