Job Summary
The Graduate Engineer – Environmental Scientist engages in all elements of the Graduate Programme and assists the Engineer – Environment/ Environmental Scientist and the broader team in producing environmental information while building analytic and reporting skills in the discipline area. The programme is designed to introduce and develop essential business and personal skills, enhancing the transition from student to professional.
+ Develops ESHIA Studies, sustainability assessments, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and Environmental project models as per specific discipline requirement and exports draft and final environmental reports under the supervision of an experienced Engineer – Environment/ Environmental Scientist
+ Assists with the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs under project timelines
+ Under Supervision, performs work following the agreed-upon budget and schedule
+ When required, collects and analyses information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project data sets
+ Uses computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering/ environmental problems
+ Coordinates with other discipline Engineers/ Scientists as applicable for the continuity of the Environmental study process
+ Participates in study evaluation progress and coordination meetings
+ Checks and ensures the quality of the model, survey and study teams for accuracy to reporting requirements
+ Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness
+ Contributes by solving problems and applying experience or theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments
+ Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
+ Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
+ Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Minimum Requirements
+ Must have graduated within the last 12 months or graduating no later than Sept 2021
+ Successful applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above
+ Bachelor of Science or Master’s in Environmental Studies
Preferred Qualifications
+ Knowledge of environmental project models would be advantageous.
+ Relevant work experience would be beneficial.
