Job Description:
We are looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) who designs, develops, implements, and maintains enterprise level database systems in a multi-cloud environment. Our DBA must be able to troubleshoot and remediate database issues and to proactively maintain the health of database systems, create backup/recover utilities according to defined standards and code and implement stored procedures and triggers. As our DBA, you will support database migration projects from on-prem enterprise to AWS and Azure cloud-based database technologies and interface with the appropriate groups to ensure that database systems meet business requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Required to perform duties outside of normal work hours based on business needs
- Tunes and optimizes database performance
- Work on indexing, replicating and performing disaster recovery services across multiple AWS regions
- Troubleshoots and resolves database problems, escalating more complex issues to senior level DBAs
- Experience working with cloud-based database technologies from AWS and Azure (RDS, Aurora, etc)
- Reviews database usage & provides analysis to management for system improvements and enhancements
- Implements security according to defined standards
- Designs, develops, implements and maintains moderately complex databases systems including MS SQL server, MySql, and PostgreSQL
- Experience with NoSQL database technologies (MongoDB, DynamoDB, redis, etc)
Job Requirements:
Qualification & Experience:
- Knowledge of scripting and programming languages to support automation tasks a plus
- Solid knowledge of several database management systems to install, upgrade, configure, design, develop, implement, secure, tune, monitor and maintain as required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Solid knowledge of database design to produce sound logical and physical data models
- Experience with varied forms of data design, such as online transaction processing, online analytical processing, data warehousing, operational data stores, and decision support systems
- Familiar working in an agile DevOps environment a plus
