Job Description:
The Manager – Waste Management is responsible for supporting the Lead Manager – Waste Management with oversight and performance management of the Waste Management Partner across the Expo Site.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all Expo wide Policies and Procedures;
- Integrate with other Event Operations Functional Areas for the management of the site during operations, logging of issues and tracking of resolution using the appropriate information technology system;
- Lead the direct team responsibly and proficiently, providing effective line management to direct reports;
- Work with the Venue Management and Overlay teams in ensuring the waste requirements of temporary structures across the site;
- Monitor contractual compliance of the Waste Management Partner that extends into monitoring Key Performance Indicator’s and resolving performance gaps, implementing penalties and/or incentive awards and managing contract scope variations;
Job Requirements:
- Skilled project manager, methodical thinker, with superior guest service focus and excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Collaborates well with other business functions and a good integrator;
- Communicates well and consistently from Director/Executive level down to large teams of workforce e.g. volunteers;
- Ability to build a network across Expo 2020 teams and key external stakeholders;
- An understanding of Waste Management services contractors in the UAE / Dubai;
Qualification & Experience:
- Experience in working with senior level Government partners and multi-agency stakeholders;
- 6+ years’ experience, two years of which were in a similar role working within a highly dynamic and complex environment, with specific experience related to Waste Management services operations;
- A bachelors degree within a relevant field;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural organisation, GCC region;
