Job Description:
Exelon’s social media team develops and manages strategic, innovative, engaging social media communications supporting our companywide brand strategy. The manager of social media provides day-to-day direction of the team executing data-driven social strategy for Exelon and helps drive related governance across the Exelon family of companies. The position develops engaging, strategic, organic and paid social media campaigns informed by internal and industry metrics. The position provides support for Exelon’s operating companies on governance, best practices, aligning editorial strategy, and content creation and amplification. The position executes Exelon’s social media advertising, managing all social paid social media budget, vendors, and related development funding. Work of the team and the manager includes supporting the integrated marketing communications programs and other organizations throughout the Exelon enterprise. The position works with a diverse, talented team with ine Social Media Contractor reporting to it. The social media team works closely with Exelon’s content lab team, brand and marketing team, media relations and internal communications teams to execute a companywide integrated communications strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
- The position provides support for Exelon’s operating companies on governance, best practices, aligning editorial strategy, and content creation and amplification.
- Provide counsel to Exelon and operating company executives and leaders, informed by industry expertise and relevant external and internal metrics. Oversee creation of reports and presentations used to provide internal guidance related to social media.

- Manage corporate/BSC vendor relationships and budgets for social media communications.
- The position executes Exelon’s social media advertising, overseeing all social paid social media budget, vendors, and related development funding.
- Work of the team and the manager includes supporting the integrated marketing communications programs and organizations throughout the
- Exelon enterprise. The position supervises a diverse, talented team of social media contractor reporting to it.
- Collaborate with Exelon’s content lab, brand and marketing, media relations, and internal communications teams to execute a companywide integrated communications strategy.
- Develop and oversee execution of social media communications work related to projects for Exelon and BSC initiatives, and provide counsel on operating company projects, including advertising, digital content, special events, and other vehicles.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated managerial experience.
- Minimum 10 years general communications, with at least 6 years in digital/social media communications.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff, including senior executives. Master’s degree in Digital or Integrated Marketing Communications or MBA
- Exceptional creativity, innovation and strategic thinking.
- Experience managing vendors and budgets.
- Strong relationships with marquee social media platforms used by Exelon
- Knowledge of layout/design principles.
- Excellent follow through capability; demands high level of performance from self and others
- Excellent verbal communication, writing, editing, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience managing and or executing paid and organic social media campaigns.
- Four-year degree in Communications, Digital Communications, Journalism or related field.
- Experience with managing social media, video, and other digital platforms.
- A high level of self-motivation and independence will be critical, as will strategic thinking and organizational sensitivity
- Strong interpersonal communication and management skills
