  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or another relevant subject with a consistent outstanding academic record an advanced degree or MBA is preferred
  • 8+ years of professional experience and solid function knowledge including, but not limited to, strategy, data science, data engineering, advanced analytics, machine learning, digital/IT strategy consulting, etc.
  • 7+ years of experience in big data related software development and in programming (focus on machine learning and data engineering) in Python
  • 4+ years of proven experience in leading cross-functional teams, designing and executing solutions for challenging business situations demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment
  • Advanced knowledge of data structures and algorithms, networking, operating systems and foundational experience standard unix/linux operating systems, version control and DevSecOps tool chains etc
  • Familiar with big data platforms like SQL, Teradata, Hadoop, Spark, experience preparing data for analytics and following a data science workflow
  • Ability to work with a myriad of data types (i.e. structured and unstructured), extracting information from modern and legacy data platforms and identify and perform linkages across disparate data sets
  • Meaningful experience in extracting and loading data from multiple database technologies like RDBMS (MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), MPP (AWS Redshift, Teradata, Snowflake) and optionally NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Neo4J, Titan)
  • Deep expertise in industries such as financial services, high-tech, telecommunications, energy, retail, metals and mining
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English fluency in local office language(s) is a plus

Who You’ll Work With

You will be based in our Dubai or Abu Dhabi, UAE office as part of our Advanced Analytics team, partnering with consultants, clients and other colleagues.

Our Advanced Analytics teams bring the latest analytical techniques plus a deep understanding of industry dynamics and corporate functions to help clients create the most value from data. You’ll typically work on projects across all industries and functions and will be fully integrated with the rest of our global firm.
You’ll also work with colleagues from across McKinsey & Company to help our clients deliver breakthrough products, experiences and businesses, both on technology and non-technology topics.What You’ll Do

You will typically lead a team of 3 – 5 consultants to help clients achieve new performance highs.
In this role, you will lead the day-to-day execution of a client project while guiding and developing individual team members. You’ll work directly with clients – usually on-site – and you’ll take ownership of the overall project and its end products. You will make an important contribution to the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions, and working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results.
You will collaborate with consultants and data-scientist to design and drive architecture and implementation planning for our clients and act as a big data evangelist, educating McKinsey’s and client’s teams on data engineering topics. Your client project work typically includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members.
Together with your team, you will focus on the development of advanced analytics models to optimize underlying business problems. You will apply state-of-the-art advanced analytics, quantitative tools and modeling techniques to interpret, make inferences and offer recommendations based on insights from the data. You will shape the future of what data-driven organizations look like, drive processes for extracting and using that data in creative ways and create new lines of thinking within an infinite number of clients and situations.
You will create valuable, transformative business strategies through the measurement, manipulation, reporting and dissemination of broad sets of data. You will apply and advise on state-of-the-art advanced analytic and quantitative tools and modeling techniques in order to derive business insights, solve complex business problems and improve decisions.
