Job Description:
This is the second level of the wind operations classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems, in technical areas of specialization, with general supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times
- Perform small or large corrective tasks on wind turbines
- Climb 300 ft. several times daily
- Work as scheduled during the week and on call as required by manager
- Perform turbine pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures
- Diagnose and resolve faults on turbines as they relate to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
Job Requirements:
Qualification & Experience:
- Valid driver’s license
- Two year associates degree or technical school certificate AND
- Ability to climb turbine towers (up to 300ft) daily is a requirement of this position; ability to complete level I job performance measures within 1 year.
- A minimum of 2 years of directly related work experience OR
- 3 plus years of directly related experience can be considered in lieu of a degree/technical certificate
