Job Description:
This level will have a minimum of one year technical experience with Duke or equivalent. This level is somewhat proficient, but still needs supervision. The technician will need to complete the Solar Technician 1 and Electrical Operator 1 qualifications and complete the Intermediate Knowledge Requirement before reaching this level. A Level 2 will have achieved the required tenure and completed the required JPMs. Employees at this level receive instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work as scheduled during the week and on call as required by manager
- EH&S Documentation
- Work in a outdoor environment for an extended period of time
- Perform corrective tasks on solar equipment
- Willing to travel and assist other Duke Energy Generation Services Solar facilities when needed.
- Operate grounds keeping equipment including but not limited to weed eaters and lawn movers
- Diagnose and resolve faults on solar equipment as they relate to mechanical and electrical problems
- Perform pad mounted Transformer switching in accordance with all Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times
- Complete necessary paperwork (work order, timesheet, tool and PPE inventory, and additional paperwork as necessary)
Job Requirements:
Qualification & Experience:
- Valid driver’s license
- Solar Tech-1, Electrical Operator-1
- Electrical, mechanical, Meteorological, Environmental, Safety, instrumentation and control knowledge
- Minimum of 1 year of technical experience with Duke Energy as a Solar Technician
