Curiosity Academy Teacher (Lead Teacher & Co-Teacher/Assistant)

Camp Curiosity & Curiosity Academy is located on a 50+ acre farm in Doylestown, PA and has been family own and operated since 1965.

A Curiosity Academy teacher will be expected to be patient, flexible and have an excellent knowledge of child development. They will be able to show confidence in their ability to teach all areas of the curriculum in the classroom as well as in the outdoor learning environment.

● Create and foster a welcoming, safe learning atmosphere for both students and
families.
● Following our curriculum outline, create cooperative, center-based lesson plans that
use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media,
structured games, art, outdoor activities.)
● Extend daily lessons to the outdoor environment including opportunities to utilize
the garden, orchard, and animal enclosures.
● Collaborate and communicate with families, team, and administration in a timely
manner.
● Lead Teachers will assess students' performance and progress to ensure they are
mastering skills and conference with parents.
● Develop and maintain classroom management plans in accordance with our school’s
mission and values. Communicating regularly with parents and administration
regarding student behavior.
● Organize the classroom and regularly rotate materials to enhance and encourage
exploration, learning and self-reliance.
● Encourage creativity in students by organizing daily, open-ended art projects
utilizing different mediums and processes.
● Follow and comply with professional standards and safety regulations.
● Oversee all meals (lunch and snacks), recess and childcare.
● Clean all materials, bathrooms, floors, and furniture as outlined in CDC guidelines
and trash removed daily to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
● Lead teachers will prepare and administer online learning opportunities should the
school experience a temporary shutdown.
● Additional responsibilities as needed.

Curiosity Academy Lead Teacher Qualifications
● Teacher Certification N-K or
● Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood (preferred) or
● Bachelor’s degree with credits and 2 yrs. Early Childhood Experience
● CPR and First Aid Certification (training provided)
● Fires and Water Safety Certification (training provided)
● State and Federal Clearances
● Knowledge of and compliance to CDC guidelines for safe operation and social
distancing.
● Must have basic computer proficiency.
● Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and work indoors and outdoors. Must be able
to assume postures in low levels to allow communication and visual contact with
children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical
activity with children.
● Available to work Monday- Friday 8:00am-5:00 pm

Curiosity Academy Co-Teacher /Assistant Qualifications
● High School Graduate with Diploma
● Credits in Early Childhood Education
● Minimum 2 yr. Early Childhood Experience
● CPR and First Aid Certification (training provided)
● Fire and Water Safety Certification (training provided)
● State and Federal Clearances
● Knowledge and compliance to CDC guidelines for safe operation and social
distancing.
