Job Description:

As the Senior Change Manager, you will be joining a high performing team and will be expected to adhere to the standards set in delivering your expertise while utilizing a leading-edge Change Process. You will be part of a fast paced, stimulating work environment, dealing with 1400+ changes a month with 300 different suppliers. You will be managing integrated services and have a good understanding of how this all maps together.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to projects and programmes in the development pipeline, engaging effectively with service transition to ensure the safe and efficient acceptance into service, and agreement of change process SLAs with new services.
  • Provide a change/release assurance function through close engagement with stakeholders/suppliers, manage conflicts, review and assess the quality of deliverables to ensure changes/releases are evidenced and ready for deployment.
  • Maintain the Change Management operating model and processes according to the strategy, ensuring that processes are well-documented and reflective of best practice, that adequate work instructions are provided for execution of the processes, and that any process variations are agreed and captured.
  • Proactively improve the rate of success of changes by engagement with all stakeholders to improve understanding of the change process, identify areas of improvement in operational practices and ensuring lessons learned from unsuccessful changes are captured and used.
  • Working collaboratively by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with Service Management, other identified stakeholders and third party suppliers to ensure that Change Management KPIs are met and a high quality of service is provided.
  • Meticulously validate and assess the risk and impact of all changes, with a focus on complex changes and releases, ensuring correct stakeholders are identified and engaged so as to ensure the integrity of the services provided are maintained. When issues are raised by assessors, work with the requester to find simple mitigation where appropriate.
  • Identify, capture and ensure all improvements to the change/release assurance process are included in the Continuous Service Improvement Plan.
  • Liaise with Incident Management for potential complex Emergency changes, joining technical bridge calls when required, administering the Emergency Change process and ensuring that retrospective changes are raised and managed for out-of-hours.
  • Investigate non-compliance of the change/release assurance policies and processes, intervening where appropriate and chairing discussions where required to improve adherence by all Business Portfolio, Suppliers, Transition or Project Managers.
  • Work within a portfolio of services/projects to manage changes/releases due for implementation into production delivered by Business Portfolios, Suppliers, Transition or Project Managers across the Home Office.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work well within a team and contribute effectively to team dynamics
  • Keen to identify opportunities for improvement and the delivery of those improvements, be it people , process or technology enhancements that are required
  • Confident to work with and present at all level of management
  • Knowledge of Service Management Tools
  • Experience working in an Agile project delivery environment
  • ITIL Foundation qualification, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience working as a Change Manager within a Service Management function
  • Experience working in a SIAM model or similar framework
  • ITIL Intermediate Level certification (especially Service Transition, Continual Service Improvement or Release, Control and Validation)
  • A relevant IT academic and / or vocational qualification
  • Influencing and engaging with stakeholders in adopting Change Management principles
