The Product and Program Compliance team works cross-functionally to create Compliance strategies that promote the global launch and growth of Square products. These products are finding creative solutions to hard problems. Square is looking for a Cryptocurrency Product Compliance Manager to help support the creativity of our Cash App, by providing subject-matter expertise in industry best practices and global regulatory landscape. This role will report to our Cash App Product Compliance Lead, and help ensure we build world class digital asset products and features that comply with applicable global regulations.

Job Description


  • Support expansion for new digital asset product launches by scoping, defining and communicating product and compliance requirements to scale within existing framework of our infrastructure, processes, policies, and timelines to cross-functional teams

  • Participate in the review and negotiation for partner contracts to ensure consistency with existing processes and systems or highlight changes needed to integrate for future growth plans

  • Evaluate compliance requirements for our domestic and international markets

  • Advise Bitcoin Product team at CashApp on Compliance operational and regulatory requirements across various markets

  • Design go-to market strategy to fulfill applicable compliance obligations for all Bitcoin services, including peer-to-peer payments, Card and ACH transactions, as well as blockchain withdrawals and deposits

  • Responsible for determining key data and operational requirements of these new product initiatives, including performing/reviewing key testing and partnering closely with compliance operations team for successful integration and product launches

  • Build a tactical road-map and set goals that align with product roadmap

  • Design and draft all relevant program documentation, content, and processes

  • Remain up-to-date on regulatory changes and landscape, best practices and developments in the industry

  • Build and strengthen working relationships and scale with the growth of business teams to ensure integration with various business functions, bring Treasury operation awareness and help steer Treasury operations requirements


Minimum Qualification:

  • 5 -6 years of broad (AML and/or Sanction) regulatory compliance knowledge

  • Global compliance regulatory knowledge and experience a plus, including experience within a company with a global payment footprint

  • 3-4 years of experience with cryptocurrency and blockchain technology

  • 1-3 years project management experience and working with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualification:

  • Knowledge and direct experience with various global payment networks, services and cryptocurrencies

  • Project management experience

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, hands-on, results-oriented and self-motivated

  • Analytical skills, flexibility, and creativity

  • Ability to draft policies and procedures
